DAWN OAKLEY
OTR/L, MS
Clinic Services Director at Omni Rehab
Dawn Oakley transitioned into her position within the Omni clinic after working for the St. Mary’s Healthcare System. She attained her MS degree in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in pediatrics from Towson University. Since attaining her degree, Dawn has pursued pediatric focused continuing education opportunities and certifications. While all areas of pediatric treatment are of interest to her, Dawn is motivated to gain further insight into treatment ideas that address the promotion of early development, sensory processing disorders and behavioral feeding concerns. Dawn’s interests have afforded her the opportunity to serve as member of pediatric advisory councils. She has also conducted in-services and training workshops. Presently Dawn is working to complete a study, as part of her pursuit of an advanced degree, that examines the utilization of the Family Centered Care service model. The following summarizes Dawn’s outlook as related to daily work.

“Pediatrics is where it’s at. While not a grammatically correct sentence, this sentiment sums up my feelings surrounding work.I love the opportunity that I am afforded to work with a student and family to support the optimizing of a student’s functional skills and abilities. I feel very fortunate to be part of a team of clinic supervisors and clinic team members, who share a common commitment to do our very best – “leaving it all on the field” so to speak when it comes to serving the families and students.
