Occupational Therapist at Omni Rehab
Melissa is a licensed and registered occupational therapist who has, and continues to maintain, board certification with the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) since 2010, focusing in the area of pediatrics. Melissa received her professional education from Stony Brook University achieving her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a Disability Studies concentration, and an additional Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree. She was inducted into the Alpha Eta National Honor Society, the official honor society for the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP). Melissa began her affiliation with OMNI in 2009 as a level II fieldwork student working with the pediatric population in our sensory gym. Following graduation, Melissa began working for OMNI as a pediatric occupational therapist and has since advanced into the role of Occupational Therapy Supervisor, supervising our OTs in the schools we serve and at our on-site sensory clinic. In addition to her pediatric expertise, Melissa also has professional experience in the mental health setting, as the lead OT on an in-patient unit, as well as in the rehab/SNF settings.
